Whistler’s deepest moments…

Over this nine-day adventure, you will experience the very best of powder mecca Whistler. Explore Canada’s largest resort and ski fresh tracks off-piste via lifts, snocat and helicopter. Designed for adventurous skiers, looking for a trip full of aching thighs, big smiles and powder face shots.

This 9 day, action-packed itinerary in Whistler BC includes 4 days skiing in the resort, a day heli-skiing, a day cat-skiing and a morning snowmobiling in the backcountry. Don't worry, we'll leave you 2 days for rest and relaxation to let those legs recover!

Flying into Vancouver, the skiing starts in Mabey Ski's hometown of Whistler, BC – 2 hours north of Vancouver. You will ski in the resort and in the surrounding backcountry/off-piste area.

This trip is designed for advanced intermediate skiers and above. You must be comfortable skiing powder for 4+ days, and some level of powder experience is ideal, (although not 100% neccessary as you will receive coaching on the trip). Bring a sense of adventure and don't forget to do your squats before this one!

This trip can take place between January and April each year, when BC's powder is at its best. It is recommended to book at least 12 months in advance, especially if you're looking to book for February-April.

Days 1-4

Arriving into Vancouver International Airport, you will be whisked up to your beautiful home for the week, the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, a stunning 2 hour drive north on highway 99. On your first full day, you will collect you lift pass and spend the day exploring the two enormous mountains of Whistler Blackcomb and warming your legs up for the following few days of adventure. Once you have warmed up, you’ll meet up with your steep skiing coach for the next 2 days – they’ll not only coach you through the steeps and refine your powder skills, but also show you the hidden powder stashes, known only to the locals. You can find anything from deep powder bowls, to steep, gladed runs (cut and thinned especially for skiing), couloirs and everything in between. Whistler really has it all.

DAYs 5-6

Day 5 is time for the show-stopper day – the heli-ski day! You’ll set your alarm early and get your coffee brewed, ready for of the best days skiing of your life. You’ll soar far above the Whistler Blackcomb ski resort, and off into the seemingly endless wilderness of the Whistler backcountry. Deep, untouched powder lines like you’ve never seen before await. Ski rolling glaciers and seemingly endless powder bowls over 6 enormous, adrenaline pumping, lactic acid producing, unstoppable grin-inducing runs (with the option to pay for more on the day). You’ll finish the day off at the Bearfoot Bistro private après-ski lounge, re-living the day with video footage and that all important cold beer.

Day 6 is a day to unwind and let those legs rest up after an action packed few days. Have a lie-in and spend the day at the world famous Scandinave spa, enjoy the endless facilities at the hotel (including full service spa and pool/hot tubs) or let us book you into something a little out-of-the-box like a days ice fishing on Lost Lake.

Days 7-9

On Day 7 you’ll wake up to meet at 7am, just before sunrise, to meet your guide and head out snowmobiling up to a private backcountry cabin for breakfast. No experience necessary, your guides will show you the ropes before ascending Sproatt mountain and finally reaching your cosy, warm log cabin where the chef is whipping up a classic breakfast scramble, the best buckwheat pancakes you’ll ever eat, along with fresh OJ and coffee.  Once you’ve done, have a play around on the snowmobiles before returning to Whistler village and heading up for an afternoon’s skiing at your own pace.

Day 8 will be another highlight of this epic trip, this time heading up to the aptly named Powder Mountain area, just south of Whistler for a day’s cat-skiing. For those of you unfamiliar, a cat is also known as a “groomer” or “piste basher” and gives you incredible access to otherwise inaccessible powder terrain. Another bonus is that this runs in all weather, snow or sun – so you’ll either have snow that gets deeper as the day goes on, or a bluebird powder day. Win win! On your final day, take the day to yourself, either spending one final day skiing the resort (believe us, you won’t be bored of this resort for a long time!) and/or exploring the charming town of Whistler – the home of Mabey Ski.
